How Adept Fire uses Countfire to deliver fast, accurate fire sprinkler takeoffs

We recently spoke with Eddy Tobaji, Estimating Manager at Adept Fire, about how Countfire has helped the company confidently deliver tenders faster, with less manual effort.

With experience across multiple fire protection companies, Eddy has consistently turned to Countfire as a reliable and scalable takeoff solution. Since bringing it into Adept Fire’s estimating workflow, the team has been able to streamline their approach while maintaining the accuracy required for high-volume estimating.

About Adept Fire

Based in Australia, Adept Fire is a specialist fire protection contractor working across both dry and wet fire systems. The company takes on a mix of residential, commercial, and warehouse projects, and regularly estimates multiple jobs each day.

To help manage the growing workload, Eddy introduced a structured estimating process powered by Countfire, “we aim to complete two to four jobs a day, depending on the size. Countfire lets us move faster without sacrificing accuracy.”

Eddy first discovered Countfire while working at Beaver Williams, and has continued using it at every company since including All Stop Fire and now Adept Fire. Across all three, the value has remained clear. Even when working with different teams and systems, Countfire remained the most reliable tool for fast, accurate takeoffs.

“I’ve tried other tools like Groundplan and Bluebeam, but Countfire is just quicker and easier to use. It does exactly what we need— and it does it well. One of the things I like most is the confidence in the output. If it’s coloured, it’s counted, simple as that.”

Seamless estimating at scale

As project volumes increase, maintaining consistency and speed becomes essential. With Countfire, Adept Fire has built a clear and efficient process to support high output without bottlenecks.

“The workflow we have now means Juliet can get through the takeoffs quickly, the junior estimators can review and price them, and I can focus on the bigger picture. It’s smooth and scalable.”

Built for real-world challenges

Working in wet fire protection means takeoffs often involve pipe measurements and sprinkler counts across large, complex buildings. Accuracy and efficiency are critical—and Countfire delivers both.

“Some residential projects span multiple towers with several basements—there’s a lot to get through. Countfire helps us stay on top of it."

As for what could make the process even better? Eddy highlights a few ideas, including automated pipe measurement and deeper estimating integrations—but overall, Countfire already supports the needs of a fast-paced team.

Countfire keeps improving, and it’s always moving in the right direction. The overlay feature was a great addition. We’re excited to see what comes next.”

Why Adept Fire uses Countfire

  • Faster takeoffs on even the most complex projects

  • Visual accuracy, ensuring what’s coloured is always counted

  • Scalable workflow to support multiple estimators

  • Trusted output, based on experience across multiple companies
“As long as we get the counts and key measurements we’re good. Countfire gives us exactly that, and it’s helped us build a more efficient estimating process.”

Final thoughts

Countfire has become an essential part of Adept Fire’s toolkit, helping the team deliver bids with greater speed and confidence. And with more enhancements on the horizon, Eddy sees plenty of opportunity ahead.

“We’ll keep using Countfire as we grow. It’s fast, reliable, and we know we can trust the results.”
