While the outcome is generally similar at the end of completing the takeoff, different estimators will generally have different methods in completing their takeoff; whether that's the way that they work through the project, or how they record the quantities. It makes it really difficult when it comes to passing on that project to either another person that's going to continue completing the estimate, or even when it comes to business continuity.
With automated estimating software, it can assist by increasing the consistency in how the projects are completed; every user will complete the project in the same way. They might move through the tabs in different orders in terms of completing the project but the outputs are always going to be consistent, you get the same quantity sheet at the end of each takeoff that you complete.
Some of the key features of the automated estimating software, Countfire, includes being able to collaborate on individual projects. So rather than just everyone having access to the software that provides this consistent method, with Countfire, you can have two estimators working in different disciplines on the same project to increase the speed of completing the takeoffs there.
