My name's Rebecca Smith, and these are my top tips for getting the most out of Countfire.

Auto-counting rotated symbols is not something that's particularly obvious as soon as you go into the software. On drawings you'll find you've got a socket, for example, that'll be rotated that's on a different wall. So to capture those you're going to hold shift, make your selection, and then that will look for 90 degree rotations of that symbol.

When you're changing things in your estimate, if you're in an Excel spreadsheet for example, you normally have to do each cell individually. When you have your estimate in Countfire, you can click in a cell and you can use Ctrl B or Command B if you're using a Mac, and you'll be able to enter your value into that cell, and it will change the whole range for you.

We've recently revamped the reports page, and you can do so much more in this page now. When you've finished your estimate, you can head over to the reports page, you can sort the information into any layout you want, and you can save that format as well. The best part of the reports page is you can expand your product view so you can see each individual product that you've got in your estimate and it doesn't matter what discipline they're across.

For most of the work in Countfire you can use a mouse, and most people will use a mouse with their right hand. So the majority of our keyboard shortcuts are used for your left hand.

If you're doing a measure and you need a perfectly straight line you can hold shift while doing that measure and it will give you a nice straight line.
