We’re already halfway through 2024, and our team has been busy rolling out some key features designed to make your job as an estimator easier.
We’ve added some updates that we think you’ll love, all designed to make your estimates more accurate and secure, taking the stress out of your day-to-day work.
Ready to see what’s new? Let’s dive in!
Effortless symbol reclassification
One of Countfire’s most powerful features is auto-counting, which quickly identifies all visually similar symbols in a takeoff. However, a limitation is that sometimes the same symbols can represent different items.
But managing symbols in drawings just got smarter with Countfire! Our new reclassification mode enables users to quickly move matches from one symbol heading to another, making counts more precise than ever before. So for example, if there are items on DADO that use the same symbol as a standard item but they need to be classified differently, you can do this in just a few clicks.
Title detections
We’ve also made adding titles to drawings effortless. Now you can simply click the drawing title extractor to enter into selection mode and drag a box over an area of text on a drawing. Countfire will search for text in that position across all drawings and automatically add in the titles.
This helps to minimise manual input and the potential for human error, especially when there’s multiple drawings in a takeoff.
Multi factor authentication
And finally, we’ve added an important new security feature: Two-factor Authentication (2FA).
We now allow users to sign in with Google or Microsoft accounts and turn on 2FA. To use this feature, you’ll need an Authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy.
This feature ensures that users accessing the account are authenticated individuals and keeps projects and confidential information even more secure.
