When you join Countfire, you're not just taking a job – you're joining a mission to make estimators superhuman and digitally transform an entire industry.

About the role
If you're an experienced SaaS seller who enjoys closing and wants to work in a fast-growing software business serving the construction industry, Countfire could be a great fit.
We're looking for an Account Executive to own the full sales cycle across the UK and US. We have consistent inbound lead flow and the opportunity is to convert that demand more effectively, turning opportunities into long-term customers.
You'll work alongside product specialists, an SDR, marketing, and customer success, and help shape the sales process as we grow into larger accounts. The role is primarily inbound today, but we value people who are proactive and will go after opportunities when they see them.
What kind of person are we looking for?
- 3+ years of closing experience in B2B SaaS, with a track record of hitting quota across SMB and mid-market accounts and an appetite to move into larger enterprise deals over time
- A consultative seller: you listen well, understand the customer's situation, and position solutions accordingly rather than pitching on autopilot
- Comfortable running a full sales cycle independently: from first call to signed contract - including confident, compelling demos with business owners and senior decision makers
- Organised and honest: your CRM is accurate, your forecast is realistic, and you know your pipeline inside out
- Genuinely curious about the industries you sell into: you'll be joining a team with deep domain knowledge and the expectation is that you learn from it, and build credibility over time
- Collaborative: you work well with SDRs, specialists, marketing, and customer success, and you understand that your results are connected to theirs
- Comfortable with autonomy: you work well remotely, manage your own time, and don't need hand-holding to stay in motion
What will the role involve?
- Owning the full sales cycle from qualified opportunity through to close
- Running discovery calls to understand what prospects need and whether Countfire is the right fit
- Delivering product demonstrations that connect what the software does to the specific challenges each prospect and their business faces
- Building relationships with the right people within target accounts, including estimators, operations leads, and business owners
- Developing account plans for larger opportunities with longer sales cycles
- Working with the SDR on handoffs and giving feedback on lead quality and targeting
- Collaborating with customer success & support to make sure new customers get set up well after signing
- Keeping your pipeline and activity data accurate in Close.io and contributing to weekly forecast calls
- Feeding market insight, common objections, and competitor information back to product and marketing
- Reviewing your own calls, your peers and looking for ways to improve your approach over time
What is expected of you?
- Act with honesty and integrity at all times
- Take ownership of your pipeline, CRM data accuracy and revenue targets
- Sell in a way that puts the customer needs first, not just the short-term deal
- Be open to feedback and act on it
- Bring your sales expertise while respecting the culture you are joining. Our team are specialists who care deeply about the product and the customer. The expectation is that you learn from them and develop a way of working together over time, adding a new dynamic without arriving with all the answers.
- Document what you learn and share it so others benefit
- Thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment where things are still being figured out
- Represent Countfire well and take genuine pride in the product you are selling
What’s our tech stack?
Like most organisations, we use a variety of technologies to build our products. Our flagship product uses our own image recognition algorithm to instantly find things in the digital soup that is construction industry PDFs. It's built with Python (numpy), Postgres and React and has interesting backend scaling challenges due to the large amount of data we need on every request.
For our most recent architecture, we've adopted a slightly different tech stack to allow real-time syncing for collaborative features. Hasura gives us a GraphQL subscription layer over Postgres, which is transformed to MobX objects for the frontend. Around that, we've built a frontend library that allows for transactions and optimistic updates in an activerecord style for a really nice developer experience.
When we sit down to code, some of us old die-hards still cling to vim, while most others have adopted the warm embrace of VSCode. Whatever your preference, you'll be provided with the tools you most like to work with (new Macbook, display etc).
