Countfire announces the Electrical Industries Charity as its charity partner

We’re super proud to announce that Countfire has chosen the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) as our charity partner!

Countfire was built for the electrical industry. Our customers are estimators, engineers and contractors working across the electrical and mechanical sector, so the choice of charity to support was an easy one. The EIC exists to look after the very people our software serves.

Who the EIC are

The Electrical Industries Charity supports people who work, or have worked, in the electrical and energy industries, along with their immediate families. That covers over a million people across the sector, from apprentices and installers through to manufacturing, distribution and renewables.

Life doesn’t stop being complicated because you’re good at your job. The EIC steps in when people across the industry face:

  • Financial or legal worries
  • Emotional and mental health challenges
  • Ill health or disability
  • Family and relationship problems

Their support is practical and confidential, ranging from emergency financial assistance and counselling to mental health training. It’s a lifeline that many people in our industry don’t know exists until they need it.

Why this partnership matters to us

Aidan Kane, Managing Director at Countfire, said:

“We’re delighted to be partnering with the EIC. The charity provides a lifeline for people across the electrical industry, and we’re proud to stand behind that work. This partnership is our way of giving something back and supporting the trade that Countfire serves every day.”

Aidan Kane, Managing Director at Countfire

Estimating can be a high-pressure job. Tight tender deadlines, long hours and the responsibility of getting the numbers right take a toll. Supporting the charity that looks after people in this industry felt like the most direct way for us to give something back.

What we’ll be doing

Over the next year, the Countfire team will be:

  • Taking part in the Power of Ten walk on 10 September, the EIC’s flagship fundraising event which involves a 13-mile trek across London. If you’d like to support Team Countfire to reach their target, you can donate here - any donation is appreciated, no matter how big or small
  • Fundraising throughout the year through team challenges
  • Raising awareness of the EIC’s services among our customers and across our channels, so more people in the industry know where to turn when they need support

We’ll share updates on our fundraising progress and events here on the blog and on social media, so you can follow along or join in!
